This is a basement bar that I did for a friend. The wainscot is from reclaimed barn lumber. There are some fun details that came up with this particular project. The drink rail that goes around the pool table has the holders for the pool cues drilled right in it. Every corner of the room has a faux post installed, which gives it a grotto feel, like a post and beam western pool room. The barn board that was used for the wainscot is the same wood that was used for the bar. It came from a 150 year old barn in Rochester, VT. The home owner had a couple of slabs of rough cut pine on some saw horses for a bar. It only took a conversation about what he envisioned for the space to get the creative juices flowing. Six weeks later, this is the result.
