This is one of the most fun projects I have ever done. I worked with the boys and young men of Camp Sangamon to design and build this structure. This is an example of blending good building technique and practice with creative design and allowing the environment and materials to dictate the final outcome. There were moments when I really had no idea how this would come out. Trusting the vision and knowing the wood would tell me where it wanted to be was such an act of faith and truly allowing the creative process to flow. It was also a joy to work with the campers and the leadership of the camp and know that they would be enjoying this building for many years to come.
