The mudroom was a choke point in the house. The closet doors meant that you could only access half the space at any one time, and it consistently filled up with coats and boots and became so clogged that the doors wouldn't close. The idea was to remove the door and the walls and open the space up then build cubbies for each person in the house to keep their boots, hooks for coats, a shelf above for hats and mittens, and cabinet doors above for storage. This energetically transformed the space into a functional and beautiful space that creates a flow where there once was a clog.
